Sneha Bhattacharyya [ Social Science Researcher, SwitchOn Foundation ]

Sneha Bhattacharyya is a social science researcher, who is presently working with Environment Conservation Society (SwitchOn Foundation) as a Senior Project Manager and Research. Before this, she has worked for 4years as a Research Associate in Social Informatics Research Group (SIRG), Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. She has done Bachelor's in Sociology (Presidency University, Calcutta), followed by Masters in Sociology (Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi) and M.Phil. in social sciences ( Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta - an ICSSR Institute). Rural empowerment accounts to be one of her primary research interest. Her present and past research engagements extensively focus on devising ways to holistically empower rural community, both farm and non-farm, in terms of their socio-economic prospects. While as a Research Associate with SIRG, she focussed on empowering rural handicraft artists using contemporary digital technologies, in her present engagement with Switch On Foundation, she is invested in enabling marginal farmers to transcend to sustainable agriculture using climate resilient practices.
